A modular kitchen is the one part of the house you use every single day, so it has to work before it looks good. At Deepa Interior and Modular Kitchen, we start every kitchen in Kharghar with a site visit: we measure the walls, note where the gas line, plumbing points and electrical sockets sit, and ask how you actually cook. Only then do we draw the layout.
Navi Mumbai kitchens face a specific problem: humidity. Six months of damp air and a monsoon that pushes moisture into every cabinet. That is why our standard carcass is BWP (boiling water proof) plywood rather than particle board, with edge-banding on every exposed edge and stainless steel or aluminium baskets under the sink.

Kitchen materials we recommend for Navi Mumbai homes
For the carcass we use BWP or BWR grade plywood depending on the zone: BWP under the sink and around the hob, where water and heat do the most damage. Shutters can be laminate for durability and price, acrylic for a high-gloss look, or PU for a seamless painted finish. Hardware makes more difference to daily use than any finish, so we fit soft-close hinges, full-extension tandem drawers and branded channels as standard, not as an upsell.
Renovating an existing kitchen in Kharghar
Many of our Kharghar clients are replacing a 10–15 year old builder kitchen. How long does a modular kitchen take to install in Kharghar?
Most kitchens take 3–4 weeks from design approval: around 2–3 weeks for manufacturing and 3–5 days for installation at site. Kitchens that need civil or plumbing changes first take a little longer.
Which plywood is best for a modular kitchen in Navi Mumbai?
Because of the humid coastal climate, we recommend BWP (boiling water proof) plywood for the sink and hob area and BWR at minimum for the rest of the carcass. It resists swelling far better than MDF or particle board.
Do you provide a 3D design before starting?
Yes. After measuring your kitchen we share a 3D view of the layout and finishes so you can see the result and make changes before anything is manufactured.
Can you renovate my old kitchen without breaking the platform?
In many cases, yes. We can fit new modular units under an existing granite platform. If the platform is damaged or badly placed, we recommend replacing it and handle the civil work ourselves.
